Studio 1thousand focuses a trained eye on human scale production. Products that are human sized. Objects that people can make with their hands. Belongings that shine because they resonate with love.
Studio 1thousand takes this starting point, and looks to modern technology to increase accuracy, reduce production times, and help make beautiful items in months not years. Laser cutting, CNC techniques, and CAD are employed but not the main creation tool. Ideas come from direct contact with the media. All five senses are used to create. Once a prototype is produced once, the design may be digitized to create a reproduceable object.
Studio 1thousand aims to create objects which have a strong life force, revel in the joy d'vivre, and help people live life to the fullest.
Studio 1thousand subscribes to a Socio-Aesthetic movement, in which we encourage people to produce things locally, while respecting each concentric radius of influence. Starting with self, then house, block, neighborhood, borough, city, state, region, country, planet. Each decision is weighed to mitigate as many negative effects as possible. This includes People, Communities, Food, and the Environment.
